STAGE+ the streaming service for classical music
The audiovisual streaming service from Deutsche Grammophon was designed for the specific needs of classical music consumption. From the very beginning, we have been comprehensively and primarily responsible for product design and brand development, and we manage the project together with a broad-based technology, product, and content team.

Product Design
In very close collaboration with the content and engineering team, we continuously and iteratively work on a user experience that provides classical music fans with the most barrier-free access possible to their listening experience across all platforms.
Alongside live streams from the most famous concert halls and opera houses in the world, exclusive interviews, documentaries, and an extensive library of high-resolution audio albums, classical music lovers experience brilliant sound quality, crystal-clear images, and first-class content thanks to state-of-the-art streaming technology.
Due to the complexity of the platform, the development of a clear design system is essential, serving as a foundation upon which applications can be implemented for all devices and use cases.
Two central elements in this are the player and the playlist. Particularly with classical music, these need to convey an especially large amount of information and metadata.
Classical music is usually consumed very consciously. Therefore, we placed a major focus on developing TV apps for all major platforms. This is where concert hall live streams and other video content truly come into their own.
Branding
As a foundation for these digital applications, we developed a modern brand core together with our friends at Kraut & Konfetti, which aims to bring the artists and their performances to the forefront.
The principle of stage, light, and shadow, along with a visual concept inspired by spotlights, runs through all design elements.
Applications
With this general toolkit of design elements and clear yet flexible application rules, appealing experiences can be created for a wide variety of environments.
