For a world without hunger

Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest private aid organizations in Germany. Its goal is to combat hunger and poverty worldwide and achieve “Zero Hunger” by 2030. Since 2016, we have been supporting Welthungerhilfe communicatively in achieving this goal, starting with the website, to social media communication, right through to specific campaigns.

In the first website relaunch in 2018, we fundamentally revised and optimized the information architecture, usability, and the entire visual design. In subsequent years, the website was continuously revised, fundraising was strengthened, and several refreshes were carried out, most recently in 2022 following the update of the corporate design. In addition to the main website, flexible construction kits for landing pages, websites for regional offices, and a website for the specialist journal "Welternährung" have been created in recent years, among others.

Infographics

In addition to UI and UX support, we regularly create infographics that explain Welthungerhilfe's topics and clearly visualize important background information.

Social Media

In the close-knit support of Welthungerhilfe, the content of the social media communication is planned in weekly editorial meetings. For content that cannot be designed using the provided templates, we conceptualized, iterated, and designed suitable formats for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Here, events that can be planned in the medium term, such as the ZeroHungerRun, the Week of Welthungerhilfe, and the Global Hunger Index, play just as much of a role as short-term projects, e.g., fundraising appeals in the world's crisis regions.

In addition to recurring content series, narratively prepared success stories from project countries, or statements on anniversaries, we regularly create illustrative ad-hoc creatives, as well as social ads, which pick up on current topics relating to the work of Welthungerhilfe and communicate its core messages and values to the outside world.

Platform-appropriate communication cannot do without stickers. An extensive sticker set was also created for Welthungerhilfe, which can not only be used by the social media editorial team but is also popular within the community.

The publication of the Global Hunger Index is one of the communicative highlights of the year. With accompanying facts and figures as well as infographics, we not only prepare the results of the report for the website, but also make them available for social media and as a press kit for journalists.

In addition, we have developed a comprehensive template bundle with which the entire Welthungerhilfe editorial team – including the international project teams – can easily and intuitively create posts in standard social media formats.

Digital Brand Guidelines

In the course of the CD relaunch, we co-developed authoritative guidelines for digital applications. In close coordination with Welthungerhilfe and its project partners, an extensive brand portal was created, providing applicable templates, downloadable assets, and accompanying instructions.

To ensure consistent and memorable communication, we have developed versatile templates, including for video. Different templates enable a varied appearance in the feed, while supplementary designs for banner sets and other online formats guarantee a visual brand line across all channels.

Promotions & Campaigns

To draw attention to the possibility of initiating one's own fundraising campaigns for Welthungerhilfe, we have developed various campaign media – starting with an animated film and the main landing page, right through to Edgar Cards and info flyers.

We also regularly create communication materials for the annual ZeroHungerRun.

For Instagram, we pick up on network-inherent topics that engage the community in various ways regarding Welthungerhilfe's core issues. From the NoFoodWaste campaign to tips for climate-friendly gardening and comparisons like "Old Me, New Me", we respond to current social media trends and address Welthungerhilfe's followers in a target group- and channel-specific manner.

And we also had the opportunity to develop a perimeter animation for 6 DBB basketball games as well as games of the Icon League in 2025, designing and animating it to meet the requirements of the different stadiums.
