Max Delbrück Center

The Max Delbrück Center is an internationally renowned biomedical research center for molecular medicine in Berlin. We undertook a comprehensive redesign of its visual identity and created a striking overall appearance with high recognition value and design flexibility. In addition to the umbrella and brand systematics, all design parameters were redefined and adapted to extensive media and all templates.

Last but not least, the newly developed claim "Discovery for tomorrow's medicine" underlines the ambition of the research center and all its employees.

Templating

To optimize internal and external communication, user-friendly Office templates were implemented for daily correspondence, presentations, publications, interactive forms, and scientific posters.

The flexibility and high recognition value of the striking design system are evident in its cross-media application.

Website

As early as 2016, we began the first relaunch of the website together with the MDC. The relaunch improved user guidance through optimized navigation, clear page layouts, and responsive design. Meanwhile, over 80 scientific working groups are presented in integrated microsites. A newsroom and an expanded career section round off the offering. Since then, the website has been continuously expanded and optimized. In 2025, a fundamental visual and conceptual revision will follow, among other things, to reflect the new corporate design.

Strategy 2030

Scientific excellence requires organizational efficiency, continuous process improvements, transparent decision-making, and competent leadership. Strategy 2030 lays the foundation for this – we took over the overall design of the publication and the corresponding website. A bold design, strong colors, striking typography, narrative illustrations, and a human visual language reflect the MDC's concept of progress.

Event

Key visuals, event and marketing media, as well as creative giveaways are regularly developed for anniversary events and celebrations such as summer parties, etc., as well as for scientific events. Exhibitions in a scientific context, such as the "Discoverers" photo exhibition as part of Berlin Science Week, were also conceptually designed and implemented.

The panels present portraits and information about researchers and explorers in various black-and-white and color photographs, with a striking orange poster in the center.
